Welcome to the new web site of the International SalonSpa Business Network (ISBN). Although the name is new (we used to be known as the International Chain Salon Association), our organization has been active since 1973, helping owners of multiple-location salons and spas improve their business operations.

Last year, our Board of Trustees decided to reassess our organization's mission. In talking with our members and our industry partners we found it was time to rename our association in order to more accurately reflect who we are and what we do. We decided to remove the word "chain" from our name, since many of the salon companies out there with fewer than a dozen locations do not identify themselves as “chains”. Following is a breakdown of how we came up with the rest of the new name:

1. International: we are an international group, with salon chains from the U.S., Canada, and Europe, and we are always looking to add more international companies to our membership.
2. Salon/Spa: we decided to add the word "spa" to our name to reflect the fact that many of our members now operate salons as well as day spas.
3. Business: we are completely focused on the business of beauty, whether it is improving our financial bottom lines or finding new vendor partners.
4. Network: the number one reason people join our group is for the networking opportunities. We are truly a group of salon owners and executives who go out of our way to share information with each other, so that everyone’s business benefits from membership in the ISBN.
